Welcome to the opening on Thursday, 7 May at 5–6.30pm and to meet the artist on Sunday, 31 May at 2–4pm!

The word Race can have several meanings, it is also the title of one of the oil paintings in my exhibition. In my work, I explore what it means to be human and the complex social issues we face. I offer food for thought, not ready-made solutions.

My long-standing interest in construction machinery and construction and road construction sites become a central part of my artistic work, alongside fictional queen figures. Construction sites affect people, they can cause irritation due to disturbances and serious concern over the destruction of nature. Excavators painted in high-visibility colours can also be fascinating.

I am a visual artist from Helsinki and work primarily with painting. I graduated as visual artist from the Department of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in 1990 and received my Master of Fine Arts degree in 2002. I have held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in several group exhibitions in Finland and abroad. My works are included in the State Art Deposit Collection, the Helsinki Art Museum, and many private collections.

Welcome!
