Art School and Course Centre

The Helsinki Artists’ Association Art School and Course Centre offer versatile high-quality education in the visual arts for students of all ages and levels. Basic education in the arts is offered for 4–18-year old students, and extensive courses for adults. All teachers are members of the Helsinki Artists’ Association with long-term experience of their own professional artistic activity as well as teaching.

Applying as student

Students are accepted for the courses in the registration order, so please note that only a confirmation by email or phone guarantees a place on the course in question. It is best to register for the courses well in advance, as they are filled in the registration order. Courses are organised only with a sufficient number of participants.

Summer 2024 courses

The registration period for the summer 2024 courses opens in late February. The summer courses are held in Suomenlinna and the Cable Factory for children, youth, and adults.

Autumn 2024 courses

The registration period for the autumn 2024 courses opens on 2nd day of May at 12:00.  The groups are complemented during spring, summer, and autumn. It is also possible to register for the courses along the year given that they are not full.

The main entrance to the Cable Factory is the covered lobby called Glass courtyard (address Kaapelinaukio 3). The entrance to the Art School can be found through staircase A inside the Glass courtyard.

Accessible entrance can be found through staircase B. In the school facilities, there is an accessible toilet and no thresholds.
