Timo Ryhänen: Alpaca Art
Timo Ryhänen’s exhibition shows an imaginative and drawing based approach that forms a more completed depiction about his Ambaria world. Ryhänen’s works have been influenced by Ambarian Megaverse and the organic figurational language of the post-computer age, and its effects on the infrastructures. The name, Alpaca Art derives from a symbolic history of painting where the meaning and the properties were part of the formal outlook of the works. Exhibition includes cityscapes and continents of Ambaria that each have their own symbology, ideas and a historical storyline. Alpacas symbolize contemporary art and its softer values, the interaction between art, humans and animals, and also function as an allegorical image for the arts as a figurative language for the internal world and the soul.
Timo Ryhänen’s artistic work has been supported by Alfred Kordelin Foundation and Arts Promotion Centre Finland.
