Virpi Lehtonen: Aihioita – prints

The themes of Virpi Lehtonen’s pictures are diverse: portraits of people and animals mixed together, loneliness, outsiders, symbols, fantasy world. Lehtonen’s pictures also have references to art history, because the migration history of the pictures is one aspect that interests the artist. The name of the exhibition ”Aihioita” refers to the diversity of subjects. ”Aihio” means raw material. Many different themes are displayed in the prints, which may later develop into new exhibition entities.
